Instructors, getting started is easy! We offer several ways for you to learn how to incorporate MasteringBiology into your course.
How-To Video Tours
How-To Videos quickly teach you how to create your first course, set up your first assignment, access the gradebook, view diagnostic data, and more. After logging in to MasteringBiology, instructors can view How-To Video Tours from the home page. The videos are approximately two minutes each.
Live Online Training Workshop
60-minute WebEx sessions: Learn how to use Mastering from the comfort of your home or office. Workshops are intended for North American-based higher education Mastering adopters.

- Getting Started with MasteringBiology: Covers creating your first course, setting up an assignment, accessing the gradebook, reviewing Best Practices, and getting support.
Recorded session: Stream | Download - Keys to Success with MasteringBiology: Learn how to optimize your MasteringBiology experience. Presentation includes recommended Best Practices for grading settings, content selection, managing student expectations, and using the diagnostics and summary data to understand your students' progress.
- MasteringBiology — Intermediate: Assumes understanding of course & assignment creation and basic gradebook usage. Covers applying learning outcomes to track student progress against course objectives, utilizing student performance diagnostics, and modifying (editing, importing, and creating) assignable content.

In this session, you'll explore topics such as how to get
started with gathering and analyzing your student success data, what to consider, and helpful tools provided by Pearson. Experienced Mastering users will share their experience with student success data and the impact it had on their teaching.
Recorded session: Stream | Download - Creating & Customizing Content (90 minutes): Learn how to edit and create Mastering content. Covers both the Simple and Advanced editors and includes working with variables, randomization, and significant figures, as well as more advanced question types, such as labeling.
Recorded session: Stream | Download - New Mastering Features: Learn what's new in the December 2011 Mastering release. Topics include question pooling, lecture capture, audio/video file uploads, usability enhancements, and more.

Requirements: You'll need a computer with a broadband Internet connection and a phone to call into the toll-free (US) conference line. WebEx sessions are limited to 12 attendees to optimize the workshop experience.
